Linen Distribution Tech
Department: Off-Site Linen Distribution
Reports To: Linen Team Lead and Senior Distribution Manager
Status: 40 hours per week, some overtime required
Position Summary
The linen distribution technician provides accurate and responsive support of distribution of clean linen to, and collection of soiled linen from, various departments within the hospital or healthcare facility. As a Fillmore Linen Service employee stationed onsite at our customer’s facility, the linen distribution tech is expected to provide exceptional and professional customer service to all linen end users.
The technician works collaboratively with all Fillmore Linen Service teams – Customer Service, Plant Operations, Transportation, Human Resources, and Executive Leadership – to ensure seamless delivery of goods and services to off-site hospitals and healthcare facilities. It is the responsibility of each employee of Fillmore Linen Service to abide by and promote the mission and values of the company to ensure that excellent services are delivered with compassion.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Build clean, neat, organized linen carts to standard par level.
Delivers/distributes clean linens to various hospital departments assigned.
Pick up all soiled carts from all floors.
Properly track linen inventory in tracking software.
Communicates continuously with the management team on identified opportunities, concerns, etc.
Maintains Customer Service Goals.
Assists in investigation and resolution of complaints and concerns from department
leaders.
Communicates and follow-up with service requests.
Performs other duties assigned by management.
Cleans linen room as necessary – sweep, mop or pick up as needed.

Follow all safety procedures, including universal precautions and procedures
Lift 20 lbs. box overhead. Lift and carry 50 lbs. Push/pull 300 lbs. cart.
Healthcare Customer Liaison Responsibilities
Serve as the primary operational contact for new customer leadership teams.
Attend executive, operational, and infection prevention meetings as required.
Act as the FLS liaison with customer teams including, but not limited to:
Infection Prevention
Environmental Services (EVS)
Supply Chain
Hospital Administration
Laundry or Textile Services leadership
Provide formal transition progress reports supported by Gantt timeline tracking.
Ensure customer-specific service nuances are incorporated into FLS workflows.
Address escalated service concerns with urgency, professionalism, and ownership.
Operational Alignment & Oversight (Before, During, and After Transition)
Work closely with FLS Transportation to align delivery schedules, dock flow, and service timing with customer operational needs.
Partner with Customer Service and Distribution Representatives to ensure clear communication regarding inventory levels, service requests, and issue resolution.
Collaborate with Plant Operations to align production volumes with customer demand and par level requirements.
Ensure par levels, inventory strategies, and distribution models to support facility workflow efficiency.
Monitor linen utilization trends during transition to prevent shortages or overstock.
Ensure soil-to-clean separation protocols and infection control standards are consistently maintained.
Oversee post-go-live stabilization and ongoing performance monitoring.
Performance & Service Excellence
Establish and track KPIs including:
On-time delivery and replenishment accuracy
Inventory accuracy and par compliance
Linen availability and stockout prevention
Customer satisfaction metrics
Issue resolution turnaround time
Lead post-transition performance stabilization initiatives.
Drive continuous improvement and service optimization following onboarding completion.
Change Management & Communication
Support facility department leaders and clinical teams during operational change implementation.
Facilitate training sessions for on-site distribution teams and internal FLS staff.
Ensure transparent communication across customer and FLS departments.
Promote a collaborative partnership between FLS and new healthcare customers.
Manage expectations proactively during transitional periods.
Liaison with FLS staff that are Spanish speaking only.
Assist Executive team with FLS special projects.
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies
Strong understanding of hospital operations and healthcare regulatory standards.
Knowledge of linen utilization, par management, transportation coordination, and distribution systems.
Proficiency in project management tools (Microsoft Project, Excel, Smartsheet, or similar).
Exceptional communication skills with executive-level presence.
Strong analytical, organizational, and deadline-management capabilities.
Advanced problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
Ability to manage multiple facilities and complex transitions simultaneously.
Experience leading large-scale healthcare implementations preferred.
Work Environment
